During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The stained suzerain lifted his proboscis to the sky, taking in the scents of wolves at the border. Looking back at Dekay, he gave an almost apologetic smile to the snowy inamorata. As it were, Paranoia and Angel were to be away from the pack for a while to get their bearings, and had left the accepting and denying of pack members to himself and another hand selected brujo of the pack. He didn't know who but he had a strange feeling it was the porcelain stained buck who had called himself The Eleventh Plague at the pack meeting. Paranoia had found him interesting and had probably pulled him aside after the meeting to talk. Kong wasn't nosy so he wasn't about to ask around and find out who the other left in charge was. He knew his job and that's all that mattered. The only thing now was that only the worthy lupines got into the pack. He would have to question them and determine their loyalty. He should be quite good at that, after all, he used to be an alpha. Letting a soft sigh escape his map, he spoke.

I hate to cut our conversation short, Dekay. It seems we have visitors on the borders and while the alphas are on leave, I am one of the wolves in charge of accepting them. I must see to my duties so I don't leave them disappointed when they return. I will be sure to find you for a continuation at a later time.

He nodded his scalp then toward the belle, hoping she wasn't miffed or upset that he had to leave when it seemed they had just got talking. Pack duties came before conversation though and he had to do his job. So he reluctantly lifted his weight from the cold ground, bringing his whipcord up to omega position as he started toward the borders at a jog. He looked back over his shoulder for a last little nod of farewell to the damsel before turning his canary pupils onto the path ahead, wondering vaguely what he would find at the border. He sensed others at the border also but they were mixed with the scents of Paranoia and Angel, letting Kong know that they were in the pack and just greeting the new comer. He caught tension in the air as he closed in and narrowed his irises some, wondering what was going on.

Finally his big ebony form appeared from the shadows of the forest and he took in the scene before him. Kalgalath, his friend from the meeting seemed to be at odds with a feminine. She was a step or so inside the border lines, her muzzle still wet from drinking at the puddle that was inside. She must have been thirsty or she wouldn't have taken such a chance and stepped into the borders. A more heartless boy than Kong would have already killed her for such an action. As it were though, he could understand being just a step away from food or water and not being able to get it so he took it as courage on the dryad's part. Maybe a little bit of stupidity mixed in there too for such a bold move but he would give her a chance to redeem herself. He didn't stop jogging till he reached Kalgalath's other side, adjacent to the one the other femme who had called herself Devil's Goddess stood. She seemed a little perturbed at Kalgalath's unfriendly stance and was trying to false correct him of the stranger's position. She must not patrol the border lines regularly to know where they start and end.

Kong cleared his throat somewhat to grab their attention. He was used to doing that after done it quite a bit as an alpha but he knew this would be different. First of all, he wasn't an alpha, he was a lowly omega, the same rank as both Kalgalath and Goddess. They would probably just look at him like he was crazy. He doubted either of the alphas had taken the time to call another pack meeting just to say who was in charge of the borders while they were gone. He wouldn't expect them to, so in this case, he would have to trust his pack mates to trust him when he told them himself. He hoped they wouldn't turn on him, get pissed that he was chosen and not one or both of them. Hell if he knew himself why they left him in charge. The only thing he could think of was that he was the oldest member here after Paranoia took charge, having been the first wolf on the borders after her win at the battle for Munashii. He wasn't going to sit and think about it. Instead he hoped he had grabbed their attention with the throat clearing because now he dipped his muzzle in greeting to the strange fae on the border and spoke his deep tone.

Hello, stranger, I am King Kong, omega of Munashii Gekko. This is Kalgalath, loyal omega, and Devil's Goddess, also a loyal omega. I must ask you to step back across the border line before we can continue the process of accept or deny. The alphas are away right now to handle personal business and left me in charge of the borders. We will not attack for you are new here but just a precaution, other packs would kill an intruder on their lands, no questions asked. I understand you were thirsty and am giving you a chance. Step back and tell me your name and why you have come to Munashii Gekko.

He tried to keep it very direct and polite, not wanting to put a wrong impression on the duchess of this pack. True, they were a pack of warriors, fearless fighters when the time called, but welcoming new comers should not be taken as a war on them. At least that was Kong's opinion. He gazed at Kalgalath in the corner of his optics, hoping the brute would stand down so they didn't turn to drama. He settled his attention on Goddess for only a moment to make sure she wasn't going to egg Kalgalath on any more but trusted the hunter to forgive her her slight ignorance for she was still a little fresh to the pack.
