The Temple of Paduan is the Temple of the Flamebearers, those who possess the stone of Ruby. Though not the god of Darkness, Paduan is still a bitter creature with a short fuse.
Really, I'd rather not

A sigh peeled itself from the Flamebearer's throat as he heard an oh so familiar voice call out to him, the girl's tones ringing off the marble of his temple, amplifying it. Slowly he gathered his legs from beneath him, having been outside for once, enjoying the heat of summer as the sun bore down on the barren landscape. Ebon banner switched idly against his haunches as he stood, inktipped ears catching the sound of a joint or two creaking beneath the dull roar of the cicadas. Hooves found purchase in the dusty soil, carrying his tawny body forward, ignoring the sounds of the sundried grasses around him, whispering like children telling secrets on the schoolyard at his passing. Another sigh left his lungs as the buckskin stallion paused at the steps to his own home, flames lapping at the edges of his nostrils with the evacuation of carbon, weighing the thoughts of what the young mare could possibly want now. Hooves clicked on the marble floor, darkened by untold years of soot and flame, the bright glow of lava peeking through the cracks in places. For once he wouldn't be an ass, he just didn't have the energy for that sort of thing today, not that he had in the last while. Pupils dialated, adjusting the the darkness of the temple compared to the sweltering day outside, finding the girl's pale form near a back wall. If he understood her correctly, she had mentioned something about 'buggy people'. The girl must have meant the Shaman natives with their wings and fragile bodies, they had been sealed back into their home with the return of the few Hoof Princers they had taken captive. To be honest, his interest was piqued by what they may have left behind, perhaps the mare had found something worthwhile or powerful.
What about the...
The words died on his inky lips, finding that as the palomino turned he was dead wrong in his assumption the item would be of some use. Had he possessed palms one would certainly be planted firmly on his forehead right about now. There on her head, rested some sort of eye protection as far as he could tell. Horridly lopsided, they only covered one of the girl's eyes (not that they were big enough to cover both anyway), casting an orange hue over the skin beneath the lense. A low throaty laugh bubbled from his chest, echoing in the usually solemn temple, ash rising into the air as he shook his head. He couldn't help it, he just had to laugh at the golden girl's antics and he hated to admit it, but she was growing on him. Slowly but surely she was working her way through his defenses. The singed god only had one question after his laughter quieted, echoes fading into the bowels of the earth.
