During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

As the two soldiers marched along the boundary line, Kalgalath's senses stayed focused upon the land outside- he was, afterall, patrolling. Still, his towers swiveled toward Kong when the brute's maw emitted his words. He heard the truth in them, and finally, it all made sense in Kalgalath's mind.

For a few moments, he walked in silence, allowing his mind to process and digest what he had heard. He wasn't jealous of the trust that the alphas had placed in Kong and TEP- jealousy had never been part of his personality. He always believed that things happened for a reason, and he knew why Kong had been chosen. Kong and Paranoia had, even before Kalgalath had arrived, been closer than the other packmates. Kong was also obviously a loyal member of the pack, and Kalgalath was proud how Kong had taken it in stride. There were many lupines that Kalgalth knew who would become power driven if placed in the same position as his dear friend, yet Kong seemed the opposite: he seemed humbled.

As his thoughts fell into line, Kalgalath turned his large cranium, his sky orbs landing upon those of Kong's own ones. A slight smile appeared in the corner of his maw before he responded.

"Don't worry, friend. I am neither jealous nor angry that the alphas placed you in this position. Rather, I am happy to see that your loyalty in them has been rewarded with their trust. I believe that your judgment toward the foreigners will be well kept until the alphas return. You know that I will always stand behind your decisions."
