Norwegian police remove Muhammed-cartoon street banner

The Norwegian police is citing street safety as the reason to remove a huge Muhammed cartoon street banner that depicted the Prophet with a bottle of alcohol, gun and turban bomb in the city of Bodo, Norway.
The Muhammed banner was hung over the highway on a walkway.
"The police received a tip and a patrol unit was sent to the scene," said operations manager, Avisa Nordland, of the Salten police district.
"We have not taken any position as to the potential content of the Muhammad banner. The reason for the removal of the Muhammed banner was street safety. The drivers could lose their focus on traffic in the accident-prone intersection."
The Bodo Muhammed banner is the latest example of the challenge to the ever decreasing freedom of expression in Norway, after the Dagbladet newspaper and the Norwegian Security Services published the Muhammed as a pig cartoon that sparked the Muslim riots in Norway.
