3, 2, 1…WHOOSH! Nuts. Looking up to the tip top branches of the oak tree Chi noticed the remnants of the large chunks of snow that had just covered her in white snowflakes. Look! She was a walking snow horse! There was no wind whatsoever so how had that large mass of whiteness fallen onto her. Peering around the main branch her optics caught sight of a tiny puff sitting and eating a nut quite contentedly. Well, at least the squirrel was happy, yet shouldn’t it be hibernating in this frigid air? Coughing loudly Chi fought to get the squirrel’s attention. When she finally did she offered her words (even if the squirrel could not understand her), “I beg your pardon mister but shouldn’t you be sleeping rather than watching me get covered by snow chunks?” Chi waited for an answer and when she got none she huffed slightly. “I guess not. Well good day sir.” Shaking her coat off and getting rid of the access snowflakes her painted coat shone once again against the winter wonderland. Taking another look around her senses told her that she was not far now. Hoof Prince was just beyond these two very large hills. With a sigh Chi eyed the barren land ahead of her and began to make her own path towards the land that she had once called home.
Reaching the edge of the second hill she stared into the valley that welcomed her to the boundaries of Hoof Prince. How could she forget? The Arbors, her dam had taken her here on one occasion as she was on her duties. It was interesting because you never knew who you would come across and it was sometimes amusing and other times uncomfortable. That was the game that was held here, the game of recruiting. The only reason she had come back to Hoof Prince was because she wanted to see her dam and sire and judging by the mixed scents of her dam here and there it would be hard to find her. Chi did not know if Luxus was here or not and so it was best to keep away from wandering around in case she ran across him. Her sire’s prominent scent was coming from the Southern part of Hoof Prince. Why not try there first? A fork in the road, which one, right or left? Choosing to go left Chi sauntered like a little dog ready to play fetch down that path. Time to reunite with father, if she could find him that is.
Jumping over logs and stumps that seemed to always be in her way Chicago started off her hunt for her father at his old home, the Dark Caverns. It seemed to not have changed since the last time she had placed her eyes upon it. Winter created a new atmosphere of rebirth and hidden magic through the territory and she didn’t hesitate to jump into the land, not thinking about the consequences. “Hello? Father? It’s me, Chicago.”
