The New York Television Festival, the industry's first recognized independent television festival, was founded in 2005 to provide producers, writers, and directors the opportunity to showcase their independently produced TV pilots directly to the decision-makers of the industry.
All you need is an idea and a video camera.
To enter The 2010 NYTVF Independent Pilot Competition:
The NYTVF accepts original television pilots from 4 to 22 minutes in length in all categories and genres, both scripted and unscripted, live-action and animated.
Early submission deadline is May 5th, 2010.
Final submission deadline is June 2nd, 2010.
The 2010 festival will be held September 20th through the 25th in NYC.
This year, all 2010 Official Selections are eligible to win the $25k NYTVF "Out of the Box Award", sponsored by IFC TV. The award is given each year to the pilot with the most unique and distinctive voice and the winner will receive a $25,000 development deal from IFC.

About the NYTVF:
Along with the Independent Pilot Competition, The NYTVF hosts a variety of script contests throughout the year, and the annual Festival in September presents free screenings, production workshops, panels, red-carpet premieres, and other special events designed to honor television as an institution and as an art form.
Held annually each fall in New York City, the Festival unites artists, executives, industry figures, and fans together in one forum to celebrate the medium and to help shape its future.
