Eagle, herons, frogs Posted on March 30, 2010 at 09:11:03 PM by Nathalie Rockhill
An adult Bald Eagle was circling over the ball field in Victoria Road a few minutes ago. After a few turns it drifted east.
Great Blue Herons are back at the heronry at the south end of Shrike Road. At least one nest had two birds standing together this afternoon, and at least two other nests have birds as well.
In the wetland on the south leg of Juniper Tr. a loud chorus of Western Chorus Frogs and Wood Frogs was entertaining one Canada Goose this afternoon. A distant bird landing on the barn foundation nearby looked a lot like an Upland Sandpiper, but was too far away to be sure.
