The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

you can cry me a river, a river of tears

The ebony demon had thought his significant other half would be here by now, but remembering her earlier disposition and the things she intended on doing to rid herself of some ‘inner problems’, he mentally shrugged, sighed, and focused back on the enlarged group in front of him. He found himself going over all their arrivals, one by one. His muddy streaked orbs swept seriously over the warriors that had gathered, his eyes were stern, but bore a silent, underhand, glaring pride. He waited silently and apart from nodding respectfully to everyone that entered and a smile to those who returned the respectful gesture, he remained unnaturally still, already feeling the excess energy building in his tendons. Steel springs ready to snap into action, without question or fatigue. Plague found it interesting and expected that the newest member to Andere would come first, she, being the closest, would respond the fastest.

you can cry all you like, but I wont take you back

She approached and gave a formal bow, touching his shin with her maw as an affectionate whine left her maw. He smiled and nodded and was going to verbally greet was distracted by another approaching. It was his faithful zeta, Jewel and he was surprised she had beaten Baroq here, being obviously heavy in pup. She would not hunt, he would not allow any unborn members come to harm, even if there wasn’t so many joining them soon. Theirs personal scents tickled his nostrils, a sharp tang hit his and a strange male approached, his banner immediately coiled tighter as he watched the new male who was obviously Misty’s mate submit before him. He sat still, then stood and took a step forward, inhaling a more detailed scent of the czar.

Welcome Warrior, to Andere. What is your name?

Plague jerked his skull towards the tree’s signalling the brute to join his mate once he had answered; they were due on the hunting field soon. Beatrice, the one he had conversed with at length and the only wolf to witness Kenji’s deserved death seemed quite shy and obviously still were. Plague did nod at her, understanding all wolves were not born as confident as he nor had such good lives, not that his was absolutely perfect, but it had made him into what he was today. He scented the air fro Kimani, but didn’t do it openly and didn’t show the tiny bit let down he got every time her scent didn’t draw closer. Never mind that, there’s a pack to run. He did wonder where Kimani’s sister, Nephthys, was. He would have thought she would have relished the idea of tearing into something still breathing- the fae did seem in need of killing something, if he were allowed to not openly give his opinion any time soon. He was glad, at least, him and the fae had come tan agreement of sorts. A twig snapped and he turned his head to watch his other Zeta, Baroq, step into the sunlight.

…And I gotta get awat, get’cha outta’ my life

Baroq had been gone a while and it wasn’t for any single reason, he had actually been spying on Saw Tooth a lot, but not in a bad way, it seemed they were also out on the hunt field and so to hear his alpha echo a hunt call or what seemed to be one, seemed a very, very good thing for him. His ebony coat was a little messy with burs from the extensive travel and he immediately trotted up to Plague and gave an elegant bow as was his habitual was. He nodded and had a small private discussion which lasted merely thirty seconds with the king of Andre; he then turned tailed and headed for his girls. Jewel, who looked so gorgeous, sat there in her sliver wrappings looking such a beautiful mother and his adoptive daughter Jena seemed to be guarding her. This is what Andere was about, it was about family, valour, honour, he knew what happened to Kenji and there was some speculation that Plague was an evil, unkind alpha. It wasn’t true, Kenji had turned and stabbed them all in the backs and foolishly chosen to follow a leader that h in turn deserted them all, they would never know why and Plague would rather just move on than encourage a vengeance to grow.

You got me running, RUNNING WILD AND FREE, running wild and free

Plague himself had said nothing towards the actions of the old alpha, perhaps he too understood that wolves here still did love him, even when he skipped away for unknown reasons. Plague was a good king, so far he’d not put a paw wrong and this hunt would be a real test of his worthiness. Baroq nuzzled Jena and Jewel, trying to lick them as much as possible, he then sat in between them, whispering thanks into Jena’s ear and nudging her gently. She too, looked dam gorgeous and any brute would be lucky to have her, not that Baroq really felt comfortable at the thought of those things, but hell, what father did. He turned to Jewel and spoke up, his voice low.

I’m sorry I left, I went to go se my brother, but I could not draw him to the border, the Saw Tooth pack had also gone on a hunt, so perhaps we may see him. It was absolutely awful to leave you and I hope I never have to again…

They both knew it was indeed a small chance, as wolf packs hardly ever made the mistake of crossing crosshairs when hunting; the wind took care of that. Still, it was nice to know he was still part of his good pack, even though Saw Tooth had declined both in respect and number and Andere seemed to have risen out of its coniferous shadows a little, he didn’t really question either pack’s ability to catch a meal. He licked Jewel’s maw lovingly in long strokes, knowing she forever worried about her almost ready puppies. He had already agreed with Plague to look after things until he and the other three got back with a meal.

gonna drive all day, gonna drive all night

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Plague cleared his throat and spoke out, his bold voice shattering the silence, his leathery tones easing the tension, if any arose.
Welcome to all and thank you for coming. I plan to leave immediately for the plateau for a hunt. Jewel and Baroq have agreed to watch over things until we return and I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a few more pack members to greet upon arrival. Misty, Phoenix and Beatrice, you will accompany me on this hunt and it is imperative that we succeed. If there are any questions, you may ask them on the way to the plateau.
With that, he nodded deservedly and looked at each of his selected hunter’s in turn and then nodded to Baroq, who returned the gesture gracefully. He trotted out of the clearing, holding a steady dog trot that was tireless in a wolf and could be held for days, weeks if you obtained his fitness level.
Whatever it takes to get to the line
