East of Rushing Rivers lies Emerald Forest, where ancient trees shade much of the territory except for those rare patches where beautiful meadows, like treasures, are hidden.

A song of spring

Gradually, with Ankh's soothing actions, Haruhi manages to stop crying and let herself uncoil from the fear that had so taken hold of her. The Haflinger manages to mumble out words of gratitude to the older mare...she was a better friend than Haruhi believes herself to deserve. Taking what courage she can muster from the cremello's close presence, the chestnut raises her head up to where it usually keeps itself and looks towards Sinner. He is contrite, though she blames him not for her reaction. As Ankh had said, he hadn't known of her longtime fear. After a false start, she manages to speak loud enough to be heard by both of her companions. "It's...it's alright, Sinner. I know that....you would never have summoned a f....fire, if you had known of how it would affect me...." The young mare nuzzles each briefly in return for their muzzle-brushes, then attempts to smile so she can reassure them that she will be alright. It's shaky, and only a sort of half-smile, but it is better than nothing. She wants to tell them the reason for her reaction, but believes that it will make Sinner feel even worse than he already does. On the other hoof, should she reveal it to them, they won't be wondering anymore about her drastic reaction. She decides to go for it, taking a few deep breaths first to try and steel herself to talk about it. "Well...you see...I lost my parents and most of my herd...when I was just a foal, to a wildfire....But, you had no idea of that when you decided to try and help us keep warm....so please, Sinner, don't feel bad over what happened just now. It was merely an accident....that's all. " She sighs once she finishes speaking, but she can feel the wound in her heart that she's carried around for so long now mend a little upon confessing. Maybe there was some truth to that old adage about time being a healer....she can only hope.
