US Convert who massacred wife, 3 other relatives, says he 'was reincarnated as Muslim prophet'

An undated photo provided by the Chicago Police Department on Thursday, April 15, 2010, James A. Larry, 32, of Madison, Wisc. , is shown. Larry was charged Thursday with killing his pregnant wife, infant son and two nieces in a shooting spree at a Chicago home that also left his mother and nephew wounded, authorities said.

What it looks like is the worst criminal nutcases are joining Islam in the jails!!

Telling ~ he named is son Jihad!! Who also died in the shooting.

Burton said James Larry had been acting odd and controlling since he got out of prison, where he had become a Muslim. Family members previously said James Larry had a dispute with his wife because she refused to dress in Muslim garb.

The Wisconsin man charged with killing four family members and seriously injuring two other relatives in a hail of bullets as they slept at his sister's Marquette Park home suffers from a "multitude" of mental health illnesses, his attorney said Friday.

James Larry, a 32-year-old Muslim convert who allegedly told authorities he was ordered by "Allah" to carry out the carnage, has been under doctors' care since 2002 and recently received psychiatric treatment in Janesville, Wis., said Julie Koehler, an assistant Cook County public defender.

Larry also shot his 57-year-old mother, Leona Larry, and a nephew Demond Larry, 13, before dawn Wednesday. Both remain in critical condition, Assistant State's Attorney Jamie Santini said. The body count could have been worse, Santini added. He said Torino Hill, a 35-year-old man living in the home's basement, was spared when James Larry's gun jammed and another niece, 12, escaped injury when she ran down the street and called police.

Canadian Islamic Congress’ regional director slams Quebec’s niqab ban as ‘inflammatory’ to Muslims

By Dr. Ahmed Shoker, The StarPhoenix, April 8, 2010

Following is the viewpoint of Shoker, a professor of medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, past-president of the Islamic association of Saskatoon and regional director of the Canadian Islamic Congress.

Premier Jean Charest’s government in Quebec recently announced its commitment to secularism and gender equality, and proposed legislation that essentially bans the niqab — a full-veil covering worn by a few Muslim women — from all government bodies.

Under common Islamic interpretations this bill is unnecessary. The government’s move is inflammatory, and let me tell you why.

In Islam, it is a divine inscription that adult women should, as do Muslim men in other ways, exercise modesty in public places. They are expected to cover their beauty, which includes either wearing the commonly seen veil that covers the hair but not the face, or (in accordance with a minority of scholars) a niqab that covers both the hair and face.

Second tallest skyscraper in the world for Mecca

» 04/16/2010 08:50

The Royal Clock Tower is made up of seven towers and will contain 3 thousand rooms and suites, for a total cost of 3 billion dollars. It will be crowned by a four sided clock larger than Big Ben. Most rooms overlook the Grand Mosque. Opening date set for June; clock will be set in motion mid-August, the eve of Ramadan.

Mecca (AsiaNews/Agencies) - After the emirate of Dubai, Saudi Arabia will hold the primacy of the tallest skyscraper in the world. In June 2010 in Mecca - the holy city of Islam - the Clock Royal Tower will be opened, a building that will house a hotel complex and is expected to set a further record: the largest clock in the world, six feet more than the famous Big Ben in London. The Saudi government has entrusted the construction of the complex to the Bin Laden Group, a multinational company with its headquarters in Jeddah.

The Mecca Royal Clock Tower (pictured) will consist of a reinforced concrete structure 662 meters high, to be completed by June. To this a metal spiral structure 155 meters high will be added, inside which a clock 45 feet wide and 43 high will be placed. Six feet larger than the famous Big Ben in London. The clock is to be set in motion in the middle of August, just days before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

The skyscraper will be only 11 meters lower than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest tower in the world that opened in January. However, the concrete structure of the skyscraper alone makes it the second tallest building in the world, the Taipei 101 in Taiwan island is only 508 meters high. The management of the hotel complex - seven towers, including 3 thousand rooms and suites, at a cost of around 3 billion dollars - is entrusted to Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. Most of the rooms seem to look down directly on the Grand Mosque, to encourage prayer for the guests.

But the real source of pride for builders, in this race to the sky launched by Arab nations, is the large clock tower that will stand at its summit. German-made, it will be "the largest in the world" said Mohammed al-Arkubi, general manager of the hotel, and will be placed on all four sides of the building. It will also be visible at a distance of 17 km by day12 km and at night. He declares that "Putting Mecca time in the face of Greenwich Mean Time, this is the goal”.
