miniseries idea

I have always been interested in the USS Wahoo and the USS Tang from World War II. They would make an interesting series I think like The Pacific about the submarine war. Mush Morton on the Wahoo was about the first major hero in the sub service and his exec Dick O'Kane became the biggest scorer on the war. Wahoo went down in Oct 43 and Tang was a victim of its own torpedo in Oct 44. O'Kane and 8 others survived the war in POW camps in Japan and some of the survivors were the first to escape a sunken sub. Good sources are George Grider's - Warfish
Richard O'kane - Wahoo
Stewart Sterling - Wake of the Wahoo (enlisted view)
??? - The Bravest Man - about many subs and the sinking of the Tang.

Wahoo has been located in La Perouse Strait where it was sunk. Tang is between China and Formosa in 180 feet and is yet to be found.

I think you could do for the sub service what has been done with Band of Brothers and The Pacific. I have enjoyed both.

Just an idea, but one I would like to see. I am a retired RMC from the Navy Reserve but never served on subs.
