Let me be frank/candid here - as a PRA member and former Board member, VP, President and Secretary, I think the criteria and process need to be clarified, precisely, and carefully followed to ensure the award still has credibility and relevance. I personally knew Lou and he is certainly an inspiration to those who knew him and knew of his accomplishments and example - his award deserves the best honorees. "Samantha" (whoever you are) Mary Enfinger is a worthy candidate/winner for her contributions to youth participation in running. I applaud her selection and feel that, in a collateral manner, she contributed to the mission of PRA. I feel other significant people in the PRA community - Jackie Brown, Paul Epstein, Jack Williams are, at least, equally as deserving. The process deserves respect as does the award winner, so let's do it correctly! I know the PRA Board, a hard-working group of VOLUNTEERS, will take this matter under careful consideration and respond thoughtfully to Dennis' original post above.
