The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Faol'an's paws barely made a sound as they churned the dirt. He loped slowly forwards, his pupils waxing and waning with the ever changing light filtering through the trees. His ivory pelt was dark with the ash he had picked up from Blossom field and he felt heavy from the extra weight. He slicked his soldiers against his honeyed skull as he moved like a shadow, trying to attract as little attention to himself as he could.

Faol'an was losing his pride. The knowledge hurt him but he could do nothing to prevent it leeking out through his pads. Since being in this wretched forest he had been shunned by every other wolf, as was the norm in his case. Glancing back, he felt a flash of paternal love as Cvijet galloped wearily after him. She deserved a better life. She deserved a mother. He didn't. Trying to push the nagging thought from his mind he lifted his nares to catch the scent as he ran. The sharp scent of crushed pine needles filled his nostrils and the evn sharper scent of wolf musk invaded his nares. A territory. Stopping as he reached the source of the scents, Faol'an was met by an awe inspiring forest of towering pines. He lowered his maw to inspect the boundary lines. A shiver rippled along his bodice as an eerie howl filled the night. Maybe here he would find some that would welcome a mixed blood wolf into their territory. Especially one thathad commited such a crime. This was the last chance for him. He bent his once regal neck to give Cvijet a gentle lick of reassurance, though he probably needed it more then she did. Night was coming on and it was getting cooler. What had to happen needed to happen quickly. So, bracing his three pillars in a wide arc, he opened his leather-guaged maw and let his rich, accented howl fill the empty forest around him. Now all he could do was wait. So, as the first pinpricks of light rose dripping into the sky from their rest on the ocean floor, the awesome brutus lat down at the scent markers as was custom and brought his pup to lie between his paws, enjoying what might be their last night together. Cvijet was his dove and he couldn't imagine life without her, but Faol'an wasn't unselfish and if there was a chance at giving her a better life, he would seize it, no matter the cost.

Cvijet followed her father into the unkown once again. She couldn't even describe how much she loved the three-legged brutus that was her father. He was the focal point of all her imagination, love and trust. The ivory male as large as life with as big a heart. Cvijet rarely complained and refused to now, sensing her sire's melancholy mood, despite the fact that she was falling asleep on her paws. The crisp evening air like a drug only serving to intensify her fatigue.

Eventually, as it seemed to the pup, Faol'an halted on the edge of a pine forest. Cvijet stood beside him, her sparkling green orbs searching the depths for signs of life. She pressed her pelt closer to Faol'an who licked her comfortingly. Her silver-silked bodice rippled under the ivory brute's tongue and she felt some of the tiredness lift from her enough so that she raised her pitiful excuse for a banner and joined her tiny voice to her father's as his howl caressed the stars. The young fea shivered as a cold breeze sprang up and was grateful when her father lay down and brought her to rest between his gigantic front paws. She didn't really understand their reason for being here but she trusted her father absaloutly and would follow him even to her death.
