hope it gives you hell; Emma

Fitz titled his head to one side as the liger roared at him and Henry, his long black-tipped tail, flicked from side to side. “Chill out man” the cheetah said, taking a few steps forwards, his light frame allowing his movements to be far more elegant than anything the bigger cat could have managed. “Assassins and ninjas don’t tend to say hello before attacking y’know?” The cheetah grinned, before finally noticing what Henry had a few minutes previously, the girl had vanished. ”Well…” Henry said, taking events in his stride as usual, “that doesn’t happen often.” The boy’s familiar nodded his agreement, glancing to the liger for an explanation. As if on cue the girl reappeared, blinking, and Henry offered her a large smile, “that was pretty cool.”

The boy grinned, his black hair even messier than it usually was, due to his success of avoiding his mother and her comb that morning. He didn’t see the point in combing it, he washed it, and ran his fingers through it, what else did it need? Not lying flat against his head to that he looked like an idiot for one thing, that it definitely did not need. His mother should be happy just brushing Renn’s hair, she liked people playing with it, plaiting it and such, his parents should just leave him and Flynn alone. Fitz turned and trotted back towards Henry, wrapping himself around the boys legs and peering round at the liger, a mischievous glint in his amber eyes. He watches curiously as Emma and her familiar start to have a play-fight, looking down at Fizroy so that his blue eyes met with the cheetah’s before they both shrugged in unison, deciding to say nothing about the behaviour that they found a little strange.

Soon, the girl was back on her feet, talking, really fast and really…a lot. He had never heard anyone talk that much all in one go, unless you counted Flynn when he was quoting stuff, but they were poems and didn’t count, because you couldn’t quote a poem and not talk a lot. It just didn’t work. “I’m walking around because I’m bored because my sister is playing with her new familiar and my brother is off reading somewhere, he does that a lot.” Henry said as Fitz began to sneak forwards, counting on his master’s conversation to distract the girl and familiar opposite, ”and no, I haven’t seen your parents” the boy continued, running his hand through his hair in a perfect imitation of his father, “but I can’t really say I’ve been paying much attention, Fitz and I were kind of running, and a couple of people yelled at us, but none of them were blonde, sorry.” Henry’s blue eyes fell upon the cheetah cub, just as the familiar threw himself at the liger and bumped noses with his fellow feline, “Do you talk?” the cub asked, ”or just sing and roar?”
