dandelions lost in the summer sky, mouse

Blah, blah, blah. Curse this, curse that. Everywhere he turns, there’s another curse preparing to slap him across the face. Wahoo. Yay. Joy. UGH. They’re truly beginning to annoy him. First the volcanic eruption had people scurrying for the safe havens that they know and trust—the Cove and the Labyrinth. People turned to Aura for help, and when she told them to stick together and stay strong, they turned to Adonis. Okay, so, perhaps it didn’t quite turn out that way, but who cares? Adonis is a major figure in Shaman and everyone knows him, blah, blah, blah. Anyways. Then the second curse struck and all of a sudden, familiars were running around rabid; good thing Keenan never had a familiar and he managed to stay away from the more carnivorous ones.

And then, on top of the lingering ash cloud, numbing cold air, and the familiars being very anti-social, the third curse had hit, nearly killing them all. Keenan had just barely survived that one himself; he’d arrived at the Core with several broken bones and plenty of bruises, but a healer had managed to patch him up. Now, besides the fact that there was a famine spreading, he is fit as a fiddle… or however they say it. Perhaps a bit skinnier, bonier than normal, but who the heck cares? He still looks good, though he’s losing the perfect tone of his muscles.

And now, now is the fourth curse. The ash cloud is gone, the familiars are back and friendly as ever, and the flood waters are beginning to recede, but the fourth curse is an odd one indeed. It reverts fairies back to their primitive states, rather like animals themselves. To be completely honest, it’s quite annoying when you’re have a civil conversation with a cute girl and all of a sudden you want to jump on her and have sex with her right then and there. Luckily he’s been able to control himself… no mini-Keenans running around just yet.

He yawns and stretches, relaxing against the outer wall of the castle. The bricks loom overhead, blocking out half of the sky, rising for hundreds of feet. He smiles to himself; it’s nice to be able to actually see the sky again. He hasn’t had much interaction with others since the fourth curse had begun to affect him, but the sky was always there above him, acting as a comfort. A good thing. The sunshine, the rain, the storms; none of those would ever be taken for granted again. He’s cherishing them as he cherishes the moon, for one day, they may be gone and no more.

He stares down to the water’s edge, where Mouse is still playing. He’d been sitting here earlier when she’d come out in her tiny white bikini and started swimming, enjoying the water as he knew she would. To be honest, she is quite interesting to watch, and the bikini definitely looked good on her… shaking his head to clear those thoughts, he gets to his feet and starts towards her, a smile playing at his lips. She is facing away from him, staring out at the debris and etcetera littering the water that has engulfed their entire home.

He’s almost to her side when the curse strikes.
Suddenly unable to control himself, he reaches out and puts his arms around her neck, locking her in a sort of embrace. “Mouse,” he whispers seductively, one hand traveling downwards to cup her breast. “You’re so lovely today, Mouse.” His lips meet her neck, his free hand brushing away her hair as he kisses her shoulder blades, the back of her neck, her jaw line—anywhere his greedy lips can reach. “Come with me, Mouse, and I can show you something wonderful. I know you’ll just love it.”
