The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

The snowy vixen had not had a clue that Kimani waited just out of their eye sight, completely oblivious to being watched herself. She was quite new to the whole pack thing, and if she was being honest with herself, the empty feeling of not having Phonix at her side only heightened her lost expression and made her uncertain of what to do. She had never been on a border patrol before, so she didn't know any certain etiquette for such, feeling just being welcoming was at least doing something for the new comer's confidence in the pack. When approaching paw prints told her someone was coming, she pricked her auds and turned her pate, a small whimper of surprise almost escaping her barely opened jaws as she quickly closed them. Taking in the curved banner and lifted crown, she knew instantly in her gut who this was. It had to be Kimani, Plague's mate. A warm smile of welcome crossed her scars, though, at the same time, she lowered her own crown some more and lowered her flag in respect, tilting her eavesdroppers back as well in submission. After all, this would be her first time meeting the vixen and she didn't want to make a bad first impression. As the other duchess came up on them and looked at Janga, the minx found herself looking back at the new arrival with a small, encouraging smile, even though she was shaking a little inside, nervous and unsure as she always felt when she was alone.

It had gotten a lot worse after Phonix's disappearance. Before she met him, she had jsut enough confidence to get by with, hiding her low self esteem with flirtacious smiles and a constantly wagging pendulum. When he was with her, she truly felt alive, having never had someone who was a best friend, lover, companion, and so much more all in one package. Her mate before him had been mostly convenient at the time, though she would never say she didn't love him. They had been friends from youth and such closeness could only go up a level as they matured. When he had grown sick with some kind of foaming fever, she had felt so lost and alone that it ate at her from the inside out, making her think sometimes that she would not wake up the next morning as herself, but worse than the monster that her mate was becoming. After she had killed him, the images had haunted her forever, never giving her a good sleep or even a nap without seeing his glazed over orbs and foaming, red fangs going for her own throat. Upon meeting Phonix, those images had disappeared completely, giving her restful sleep and a happier life when she was awake than she had ever felt was possible. Now, with him gone, her nightmares were worse than ever, the face of her long, lost love from puppyhood turning into the loving, kind face she knew so well from recent. Seeing Phonix with those same glazed optics and foaming maw parted and going for the kill made her never want to wake up, wanting to let him take away her last breath as a final gift for the pain she was feeling inside with his absence.

She had become almost a shell of her entire being, the confidence now more of a charade than it had ever been, only able to come out when she was with someone she felt comfortable with, like a shy stranger just needing a friendly face. Now, with the presence of an alpha, she felt smaller than ever, waiting for Kimani's gentle voice to turn into a blood thirsty snarl and her glazed over voids to turn to her and become the monster she slept with every time she closed her own visionaries. A small quiver rippled through her slender chassi, instead focusing her attention on what the alphess was saying. Glad that Janga was going to get a chance, she turned her sunkist globes on the brutale, knowing she would appreciate this offer and gladly give Kimani the submit she wanted. Meanwhile, Misty took a small step back, making herself behind the alpha as a silent shadow, her form still hulking and hunched into itself as if she had been punched in the stomach.
