The Valley

Between the Meadow and the Field is the third of Beqanna’s Common Grounds. A rolling valley is bisected by a broad and shallow river. The grass is thick and lush, and this is a good place for a stallion to live with his family if he does not yet have a herd land.

A dream without nightmares. It was a first for her in a very long time. It was all due to her current situation as well. She liked living with Diamonds and Dusty. Diamonds was sweet and Levana hoped that they could be friends some day. Time would tell. Dusty was very friendly to her reminding her of a big brother at times but it was cute. The valley was a beautiful place just as had been promised to her by Dusty before they had even ventured here.

Hearing a light footfall was enough to draw her from sleep. Her head lifted quickly startled and ready for anything. Yet, she didn't fly to her feet and bolt as only weeks before, she would have. She was met by the red face of Dusty, who offered her an affectionate nuzzle. It made the butterflies dance in her chest as she touched her plush to his own. "Good morning." She whispered.

He moved off to wake Diamonds as Levana hefted herself to her feet. A plethora of dried leaves and grass had clung to her hide. With a frown, she gave herself a quick shake ridding herself of the foliage. She was self-conscious of her appearance now for some reason she still didn't understand. Whenever Dusty was around, she wanted to look beautiful for him. It was so strange to her. Strange to a mare, who used to hide herself with mud and sticks. A stubborn leaf was tangled in her mane and she twisted her neck and nipped it out carefully. Stretching, she glanced over to see Diamonds awaken before she offered the other mare a soft smile.

Dusty drew her attention as he pranced before them barely able to stand still. She blinked softly trying to figure him out. What was with him? It was just another morning and very early at that! What was with that silly grin that was plastered upon his sweet face? Palomino overo canted her head to the side. "Surprise?" He spoke about a journey and she felt ready for it. "Is it that you've found the absolute greenest patch of grass in the whole valley and you're going to share it with us? Dusty, you're so sweet. You shouldn't have." She grinned.
