but her dreams don't come true She's wished on a million stars but her stars never fall Still she's a believer She can see rainbows when the sun is out of sight She can find the moon even on a cloudy night She follows hope through the darkness laughing as she dances away misery - Lovella Torendo (LT), "always a dreamer" It is late morning when I wander out from the forest cover and into a great open field. The scents of others assail my nostrils and I become fidgety with excitement for while Aaron fills the void of loneliness I still hunger for equine companionship. That gray rock I’d nearly killed myself trying to jump over yesterday, while providing company for a time, hasn’t quite worked his way up to friend status yet. Or maybe he has considering the fact that I plan to track him down again but one friend alone never was enough for me anyway. A brown rabbit hops up to my side and stands on his back legs to lift his tiny pink nose above the tall grasses. “Why are we here Kora? This place isn’t the least bit safe…I don’t like it.” With a sigh I devote half of my attention to the creature, “we are here because I choose to be, I am board and I need entertainment. Chill out scaredy-cat, you are such a whiner. Maybe you should turn into something bigger if you’re so uncomfortable.” His whiskers twitch irritably at that and he bats a disciplining paw towards my leg but I side step smoothly leaving him even grumpier than before. “You are such a child sometimes…” I am not about to let him get away with that jab, “and you are a stick-in-the-mud all the time. Honestly you are exactly like the other Aaron, he never wanted to have any real fun either. You better watch out or one of these days I’ll take off and leave you behind like I did him.” This makes him laugh as I knew it would, even though I’d really meant it. “That is not physically possible, as you learned the hard way. Besides you wouldn’t be able to stand the loneliness. Alright, fine if you insist just be care…” I have already leaped forward bounding joyfully through the green stalks and leaving him exasperatedly trying to catch up yet again. For all the brat’s threatening warnings he didn’t appreciate the feeling of stretching the bond any more than I did and I have found that if I just take off he will rush to stay within range rather than face that pain again. Sure enough a glance over my shoulder reveals a large eagle swooping in on my position. With my focus ahead of me once more I catch sight of a bulky black form in the near distance. A quick test of the winds reveals this strange equine to be male and that spurs me on for I’ve always gotten along best with the boys. Charging up to him I come to a sliding stop, one of my favorite things to do, and approach failing in any attempt to be demure. “Hi! Nice morning isn’t it? You look lost, are you new here? I’m Koralynne, what’s your name?” There is barely a breath between the rushed together sentences and it wouldn’t surprise me if he has trouble following them. “So much for careful…” Aaron quips as he lands on the ground beside me. Ignoring the party-pooper I keep my eager gaze upon the stranger before me. Then I notice the diminutive doe standing between his front legs. “Oh! Is this your Axian? She’s awfully cute!” Clearly Aaron agrees with me for he is attempting his mimicking trick again and having a bit more luck seeing as this creature is significantly smaller than the wolf. | axian speech | | mental speech for both | | regular speech for both |
