The Chrysler 500 is not manufactured in the USA because the UAW, Pension Holders, investers, and the US government and others realized that they could not sell enough to make the venture strong enough to cover future pension costs, taxes, health care etc... To cover all these costs adequately, they would have to sell over 30 thousand copies per year. But the UAW and others realized that Americans and Democrats would not buy a 40mpg 4 door manual shift, no AC subcompact, even after voting for a President that said that we should drive smaller more fuel efficient cars TO REDUCE co2 AND FOREIGN OIL IMPORTS. Remember? If not, watch my lAST FILM ON ENERGY...TO SEE THE TRUTH. THE MORE 500s YOU SELL THE MORE pension and health care COST YOU CAN COVER. But if liberals are not willing to drive smaller cars, how do you expect Republicans to follow? So the Chrysler 500 40 mpg car was moved to MEXICO for it's manufacturing needs to keep costs down because of the lack of future sales. The POST STANDARD should be writing this story.
