Working at a hospital, it was a given that their tall, broad-shouldered opponent was accustomed to dealing with overwrought women, who may or may not be persuaded to frantic and semi-violent action if their requests were denied; certainly, it was something that one had to be prepared for, in this kind of setting - but Cass' eerie calm was something very different. Quieter, and less dramatic than what he was used to... and yet definitely more intimidating that this person who could have stood on her toes and still not been able to look him in the eye was so determined - and collected - about getting her own way. He was quiet for several long, awkward moments, debating in his head what to do, and then...
"I'd suggest you escort them to Mr. Jones, Dave," came a low voice, accompanied by the slight creaking of a door as Charlotte hefted her large frame into the room, surgical mask covering her face but her voice dry and clear as ever. "Miss Jones is not accustomed to being denied what she asks for, particularly where her uncle is concerned." Cass had partially whirled at the creaking of the door, standing half-turned now between Dave and Charlotte in order to put her in a position to deal with either of them, if they'd been a threat, but the nurse didn't seem too surprised, and certainly wasn't alarmed by the sudden action, the way that Dave's flinch said he was. "He's just coming out of the anesthetic - they're seeing him to 212. You'd better take them - I've a few other tasks to accomplish before I'll be up." With that, and a brief nod to Cass, the woman unhooked the mask from behind her ears and stalked away on some unnamed mission, leaving them alone with Dave again, who looked a little miffed, but finally muttered, "Come on, then - if Charlotte says I'm to take you, we'd best get going." Cass bent and picked up the bags. "Lead the way."
