Aug 22nd sightings

I birded Wylie and Alvar Roads Aug 22nd with Bruce Wedderburn, a visiting Ozzie birder. VERY quiet but did manage to find:

1 Merlin on Alvar Rd.
2 Sedge Wrens at Sedge Wren Marsh (where else?) on Wylie Rd.
1 Grasshopper Sparrow + Field, Savannah, Song, Chipping Sparrows on Wylie Rd.
several kestrels and a Sharp-shinned on Wylie Rd.

not much else - no song of any kind and no shrike sightings - we were only in the area about an hour. Note the roads were very wet and Alvar Rd east of Wylie was flooded near the beaver dam, but still passable.
