Edward Walshaw appears on the 1841 census, at Bretton Mill, Great Sandall:

Matthew Walshaw, 46, Farmer and Miller, Y
Mary Walshaw, 46, Y
Jane Walshaw, 20, milliner
Alfred Walshaw, 18, Y
Ann Walshaw, 16, Y
Eliza, 15, Y
Edward, 12, Y
Martha, 10, Y
Ruth, 8, Y
Mary, 6, Y

Interesting that the children have no occupations, or even 'scholar' listed. Was this a well-to-do family?

I did find a Blanchard family in Limehouse (Tower Hamlets) in the 1841 census, when Mary Jane would have been 5 years old, but the household contained only:

Joseph Blanchard, 45, shipwright, N
Kezia (or Eliza)? Blanchard, 45, N

so this family were born out of the county.

I have not been able to find Mary Jane on either the 1841 or 1851 censuses, but that may be the indexing quality of the site I use.

If you get the marriage cert of Edward and Mary Jane, and find their fathers' names, it would help a lot.

Regards

Colin
