Lanny was fully prepared to stand his ground on this one, fight or no fight. Johann was a formidable man, and as much as he wanted his help in solving their problems and protecting Cassidy, he didn't want to see the man get himself killed or further injured by disobeying the physician's orders. He may not have a terribly close connection to Johann, yet he was concerned with his wellbeing in his own way, and besides that, he understood the man's importance to Cassidy. Just as he was reading Johann's body language and preparing to vocally shoot him down, Cassidy chimed in and ended the fight before it could even get off the ground. The co-lead continued to watch the uncle carefully until it was made clear that Johann had given up the fight - for now at least - and redirected his attention to other things. "She's got a ways to go yet. Don't you, Missy?" As a distraction for himself, and to encourage his daughter back into a more cheerful mood, Lanny lowered his face down closer to hers and gave her one of his big, goofy grins.
(cool for a country song! and yes, i can definitely see how he can fit the role of slim in that song XD
ah, that's good news! no doubt they're happy for that, and smart idea about not taking out all their water!)
