dear roommate,

although i really enjoy your company and consider you a good friend, i'm really getting tired of this.

first of all, i am happy for you. it's good that you have a new boyfriend; it's good that he's a really nice guy (he truly is). so don't get me wrong on that point.

but secondly, i'm reaalllly tired of the way you're handling all this. you seem to have forgotten that my boyfriend of many years is studying abroad this semester, so rather than living with the fact that i only get to see him once a month as we attend different schools...i now have to adjust to not seeing him at all for four months of this year. he won't be back until december. oh, and also, i don't even get to talk to him on the phone (it's too expensive). so we have to rely on the crappy internet to speak to each other via email or instant message...which often fails and blacks out. not to mention the 5-hour time difference.

it is for this reason (aka, the constant ache in my soul) that i really don't enjoy the way you and your boyfriend are constantly together in our house, constantly touching, constantly exchanging sweet nothings. i like him, and i like you; i don't like the way you are together sometimes. it's too much. it makes me sad and it makes most of the rest of the people in the room feel at least a little uncomfortable/grossed out.

please stop it, and be a little more considerate of your roommates (because, aside from me, two of them are quietly jealous of your romantic success and one is still not over a bad breakup). we don't not want to hang out with the two of you; we do want you to keep private exchanges private, and try to be a little more...ahem...appropriate in public. kthanxbai.

p.s. - did you really complain to me the other day about how much you missed your boyfriend of two weeks while you were on a four-day out of town trip? really? oh yeah - you definitely did. -.-
