The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

She hadn’t probably even been within pack terra for a few weeks. Kimani was an impulsive, dangerous, insane creature that Plague just truly loved. They fit each other like there was a physical hollow in one and a large mound in the other that fit perfectly. Personalities rarely clashed, in fact, the only time he had done something wrong is because he had sensed there was something not quite right with Kimani’s scent so he investigated, needless to say, he wouldn’t be doing that again any time soon. Perhaps next time he would simply just stalk her from the undergrowth and let her not know and even then, it would take the presence of blood, even death, for him to be even slightly worried. Wolves died all the time, but Kimani’s death would be a death within himself too, for she was truly part of him, from the day he had saved her from a wild puma.

Both lupines still claimed fame to the fight through the long raked scars down their backs, it was amazing either didn’t die from spinal injuries and Plague only took it as a sign that somehow…they were destined to be together. Even when she went ‘missing’ from pack lands, he held everything down, having loyal and capable pack members to assist him in the daily running of Andere. Something about being alpha came so naturally to him, it was as if he couldn’t imagine his life any different, he simply could not think what would have happened if he continued to pick through the loner’s subtle survival. The likely answer was, he would have died in a fight, or from injuries, as he was so good at picking fights when no hierarchy was present, now that he was king, atop all them all, there was little need. In fact, if he thought about it, it was his fighting nature that got him where he was now.

By challenging the alpha of Andere, he had incredibly found Kimani again. She had asked him to stay with her and he hadn’t had to think twice about the proposal. Shortly after that she had showed him her fortress of solitude in the Cavern of Secrets. They had had some ‘alone time’, which had resulted in Kimani’s current state of pregnancy. They had come through so much together, lasted through tough and golden times while Kimani healed from her wounds of the wild cat attack. Looking at the mature femme fatale now, he realized they had both come so far and he was as proud of her, she was his rock, his idol and his goddess. Nothing could ever change that. Ever.

I’ve missed you too. I was stargazing, thinking about how we first met and how you tried to rip my heart out when I challenged you. I couldn’t help but feel nothing but overwhelming pride when I felt your anger towards me for threatening your family, you had grown so much and I immediately knew that I loved you. I didn’t care if you wouldn’t ever love me back, because I realized nothing would ever change that.

He nuzzled her and licked her grey bell, but took a glance at her belly and laid his head there and tried to listen to his future pups heartbeats, but alas, the forest noises drowned out most of it. To him, they were safe and well looked after, Kimmy would be a fantastic mother, he wasn’t quite sure of his fathering abilities, but he figured if he could look after a pack, he could look after pups. Some deep instinct in him told him he needed heirs, but that wasn’t what this was about, the pups hadn’t even been planned and Kimani hadn’t even seemed to want them; she had even talked about aborting them by eating certain toxic plants. Plague only worried what this would do to her, at the moment; her health was his top concern, although he knew he didn’t have to worry about her too much. She was highly independent and wouldn’t allow him to hover, in fact, he highly doubted he would know when his pups were to born unless she wanted him there. He wouldn’t be offended if she didn’t, as long as she or her pups didn’t get hurt, he would be perfectly fine.
