In terms of general announcements...
The shop discounts will be extended to Boxing Day since shops are currently down. I will be working on getting shops back up today.
Those of you who have purchased Santa Sacks, please post on updates to get them swapped for presents for your characters.
Regarding the new version... may I just first of all offer my thanks to the many people who worked so hard to get this up for you all. The rock dragon was drawn and coloured by our own Equilibrium, and the photomanipulation was done by the wonderful Alora, who also worked on the layouts for versions 5 and 6. The overlay (how the text sits on top of the image and expands down) was coded for us by Lec, who runs Ausus and who also provided her input in the coding for the Earth site. Demon Pictce helped with the general look of the main site and gave pointers on the colour scheme. Merlin and Pixie have both worked hard on the Earth site to get it up and running in time for the switchover. Shenan has been an invaluable source of advice since day 1. It takes a lot of people to make a version, and each and every one of them deserves their due credit :)
Now. Onto the changes in the new version... which there are a lot xD
Obviously, the big one is the connection with Earth. Your characters can cross over to Earth at any time and come back to Shaman at any time. Because of the nature of the rip, they can do this without fear of losing their powers or levels. On Earth, you can play your Shaman characters or you can join temporary characters - humans or fairies which live on Earth and have never set foot in Shaman. There is a special board for you to join these characters, so please don't join them on the normal joining board. These temporary characters should be played primarily on Earth but it is possible for them to pass over into Shaman.
There's also the new IC boards in Shaman, but I think I explained them in the last post.
The "Create Shaman" section still exists, it's just undergoing major revamping. When it's up, you'll be able to suggest new Shamanimals/etc ont he Suggestions & Question Board (OOC -> Out of Character) and accepted ones will be displayed on the World of Shaman page (Adhere -> Gameplay Information). That page won't be up for a little while because I've got to rewrite the bios for all the Shamanimals, since the member-produced ones are a little long :)
Levels are being revamped and that information will eventually be displayed on the Magic & Levels page (Adhere -> Gameplay Information).
Not a lot else I can say at this point while most of the site is still down. I will let you know when stuff comes back online and I'll explain all the new features as they become available.
