Aaron took off early this morning with out any explanation what so ever. He just changed from the funny looking puffin into a Canada goose and leapt into the air. I’d only barely woken up myself and had just gotten to my feet when I was forced to follow or fall back over by the stretching of the bond. Let’s just say I am something less than pleased by this situation but I decide to follow since I will never learn what the heck is going on if I’m passed out. So I trot after him staying as far away as I can without feeling pain I may be going along for now but I’m not going to rush to wherever he’s decided I ought to be. As I travel I think over what has happened to me since leaving mother and Mort and Silar so far behind. I’ve certainly grown in the physical sense, that’s for sure. This place and the people I’ve met since coming here have changed me in their own small ways but I am still me, still Koralynne in everything that matters…

My pondering is back staged by a sudden change in the air around me, it seems to be charged and heavy… almost a living thing in its own right. Startled I glance around me, the land is not unlike other places I have been too in Avenion and yet it is totally different and somehow… other. In a way it is fascinating, in another it is creepy and it isn’t really like me to be creeped out. My partner has been completely unresponsive to any attempted contact and so I do not attempt to question him but I move with a little more caution. We have gone about an hour beyond that odd boundary when I can take it no more. “Aaron, what is this place? Why are we here?” At first I think he is going to brush it off like he has everything else this morning but he doesn’t, “I don’t know Koralynne… I really don’t. We are just supposed to be here, that’s all. Come on, catch up please.”

He sounds strained so I don’t push the issue but quit dallying and speed up to catch him. I take a turn around a large tree to find that he has land on a small pool of water. At first I think it is my imagination but after looking again three times I discover that he really is shimmering and almost seems to be fading in and out. Truly worried now I step up to the edge of the pool and reach across the water to touch him, “are you okay?”
