I had to Google large reservation fire to find out about it. Yea, White Swan is across the Columbia in Washington about 150 miles from Pendleton.
"This small enclave west of Toppenish became a war zone Saturday, shut off from the rest of the Valley as firefighters from across the area battled wind-whipped blazes that Yakama Nation tribal authorities said had consumed 20 homes as of early evening. The ceremonial long house and White Swan High School were available as temporary shelters. The fire apparently started in one house and then spread in the unincorporated town of White Swan in south-central central Washington state with the help of 40 mph winds."
Gosh, 'twern't us. Thankfully. But thanks for worrying. Given our propensity for trouble, can't have too many good folks worrying about us.
