During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

My forms of entertainment are limited. The pack is still minuscule, so I can’t just wander about and meet someone to have a nice chat with. It’s still too early to hole up somewhere and pass out. The night is too light for me to go hunting. As I go through everything I can think of, I have to score each one out with a very large can’t. A sigh heaves my bony shoulders as I canter through the outskirts of the pack lands, looking for something interesting to capture and keep my attention. As soon as I had snuck away from the two flirts, I had taken to running without any real thought or cause. Sometimes it was good just to move; it could clear even the most burdened of minds. When I became weary, I would sleep. If I became hungry, I would feed. There was no need for justification when I let my more animalistic senses take over. I allowed my inner sociopath to break forth, disregarding the well-spoken gentleman cover I had built around myself. No, I am not a true sociopath. I have boundaries and a conscious, and I can feel emotion as strongly as the next wolf, but the similarities are uncanny.
I yawned, eyelids drooping over my amber lanterns, and I slowed my pace from a trot to a saunter. My extremely visible ribs are heaving from overexerting myself. I don’t recognise the part of the pack that I’m in. Some forms of birds are cawing above me, their wings spread as they cascade then climb. I sit to watch their rhythmic dance, very aware of how alone I am and how silent this part of the colony is. If I leaned toward the light more, I may be have been afraid, but there’s not much in the dark that’s a lot scarier than my corpse-like self. I am, to put it simply, the fuel for nightmares, with my white pelt that’s smeared chaotically with the kind of brown you really hope isn’t blood and the fact that I permanently looked starved. I’m hardly the kind of guy your pup wants to see loitering at the den with a crazed grin on his face (which, I’m sort of ashamed to say, made for an extremely fun night). Just as I was about to settled down for the night, a howl pierced the air around me. It was a femme seeking entrance, as she was no more than a few seconds away. I sighed, silently willing Eric to hurry so that she’d stop making so much unnecessary noise. My auds flicked in annoyance as she spoke to herself and yelped. I groaned, clambering to my pads and shuffling over to her as she waited, stomach exposed.
”Before you ask, no, I’m not the alpha, I’ll just do the introductions. My name is Zombie; I’m an omega here at Munashii Gekko. From the scent radiating from you I’m going to take a wild guess and say you’re not the average kind of wolf,” I grinned, orbs flashing, ”and you probably know that nor are many of us here. Our alpha, Eric, should be here shortly, but until then, may I ask your name?”
I kept my tone polite but professional, radiating the no-nonsense energy I had learned from generations of parenting. It should be clear to this fae from my stance and the tired expression on my face that if she had planned to cause trouble here at my new home, that I would do everything in my power to stop her. I was so wary of newcomers, keeping a precise distance in case they decided, as many before them had, that following the ways of the night was wicked. I wasn't not going to lose this place mere days after I discovered it. I would rather die.
