The Song of America
It all began when a righteous people were persecuted for their faith in God,
The song of America!
They lived in a country across the ocean, and longed for a country where sweet freedom rings,
The song of America!
They wanted to be free from the tyranny of a king,
The song of America!
They embarked on ships to sail to a new land,
The song of America!
Thru much peril and anguish of body and soul, they sailed to a land they knew not of,
The song of America!
They believed in a God Who would bless them with freedom there,
The song of America!
They came to a place called Plymouth Rock,
The song of America!
They endured much suffering and peril,
The song of America!
They endured the fierce cold of winter and many died,
The song of America!
They began their lives as Puritans, whose faith in God was strong!
The song of America!
The Lord Jesus Christ would lead them along,
The song of America!
They stayed and built their homes and raised their families,
The song of America!
They formed a nation of people who increased in abundance,
The song of America!
Thru God's great grace and blessing, and because of their great faith, they flourished!
The song of America!
Because of God's great bounty, they gathered together and gave thanks to Him,
The song of America!
America, America, God has shed His grace on thee, "and crowned thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!"
The song of America!
God blessed this nation which was born of a people whose faith reached beyond,
The song of America!
The dreams of those who suffered persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ their Savior,
The song of America!
They believed there was a better place where sweet freedom rings,
The song of America!
They fought the tyranny of a motherland, and by their faith in God and their shed blood, they won!
The song of America!
They became a nation of abundance, which God gave them to give to other nations,
The song of America!
They became a nation where sweet freedom rings,
The song of America!
Where they have enough abundance to give other nations less fortunate than they,
The song of America!
Other nations of the world, the poor and the needy ones were blessed,
The song of America!
God's purpose of the Puritans who came to Plymouth Rock became known,
The song of America!
God had a purpose for this nation from the beginning,
The song of America!
He had a purpose to work thru a people of strong faith in Him,
The song of America!
Thru great suffering, they endured to the end,
The song of America!
By God's grace they survived and became a strong nation vibrant i faith,
The song of America!
Today, we are blessed with a heritage from these forefathers,
The song of America!
They are our standard of how we should rule a nation under God's mighty hand,
Because of these Pioneers giving their lives, we have a great foundation,
The song of America!
We can stand proud and strong,
The song of America!
And the Blood of Jesus Christ covers our nation!
