During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Her perfume wafts into my nostrils through the breeze and I hate to realize that she is coming toward me. What will I do? I don't even know how to act around her anymore. My duller than usual blue eyes scan the foliage that surrounds me, wondering if I'll see those damned teal eyes staring back at me, but I don't. Her perfume comes on stronger now and all at once I'm bathing in it even though I don't see her yet. This tortures me. My muscles go rigid, rippling smoothly beneath my pelt as I continue my restless pacing, all senses on high alert as I wait for the inevitable. Will she call me pathetic for following her?

Soon enough I catch movement and look over to see none other than the devil pulling my strings step out of the brush and stare at me with those oh so innocent teal blue eyes. For a moment, I think that I'm mistaken and this is some other beautiful goddess for the eye color is a little off, being more green than blue. Yet I can smell her and I know that it is indeed her. I can only catch small traces of the punk at the river but the smell of Eric lies stronger on her coat. Damn him. I'll fillet him alive! Anger flashes in my blue eyes before I know it and a soft growl of menace plays in my throat but it all halts at the sound of her soft concerned voice.

She says my name like the most beautiful song, asking me if everything's okay and all I can think about is the sexy southern twang and the way she tasted. Damn her! I pause my pacing to stare right back at her, accusation and anger evident in my eyes, eyes that I never thought would look this way at her. Deep down, I know that I might be jealous and I want to get away from all of it, just turn and run, but I am anchored here by her and her alone. I grit my teeth, trying not to think about what her and Eric might have already done in their own private space before looking back at her and my gaze immediately softens. When my voice finally slips from my tongue, her name comes out husky and rough, so much emotion thrown into one word.

Sookie...yes, I'm fine. I look more toward the trees behind her as I finish my statement, unsure of how to look at her now that she might be the property of the punk who owns this territory now.
