In the fields at the entrance to Prairie Smoke, a Harrier was hunting and several Turkey Vultures overhead. Also a woodcock just inside the woods, some Evening Grosbeaks, and a flock of Redpolls.
I was there photographing the mess made by the Snodrifters, who "trimmed" trees and shrubs along the road allowance with one of those horrible chipper machines - no rationale, no need, just stupidity!
