The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

The howl wakes me from a fitful slumber as I whimper and roll back onto my side, eyes opening groggily to a dreary morning. For a moment, I wonder if I just imagined it, but then the scent of a fresh kill has me slowly lifting my head, easr standing up at attention as golden eyes pierce into the distance, as if the carcass will appear before me if I just stare long enough. My nostrils wrinkle, trying to decipher the three lupin scents I catch coming along with the corpse's scent of fresh death, edible death. My stomach growls as if in answer. Yes, it's been a while since I've eaten. I lost track of the days, but at least I don't look dramatically thinner, just a little easier to see my ribs beaneath my thick Arctic coat of white.

Again, I shift my weight, wondering if I should motivate myself to get up and go meet the three new members. I can smell Plague on them so I know that they must be pack mates now. How long has it been since I've journeyed to the borders of Andere to meet a new face or two? It's been quite a while and my pack instincts are screaming at me to go talk to someone. I groan as my joints pop, fore legs stretching out before me as I start to rise to my paws. Once up, I continue stretching, a satisfied yawn escaping my jaws. Lastly, I give my tail a good wag or two as if to make sure it still works before setting my path for the source of the call. I wonder if Plague will show up as well.

My ears flicker alertly as I trot toward the clearing, wondering who else is still alive here. I know I can barely claim that status. I feel like a hermit who's been holed up in a den for years. My eyes still have a glow of life in them, but not much more. No longer is there the brightness of a happy soul. No, that was ripped from me when Phonix disappeared for the second time. I still pine for my lost mate, wondering what happened that could take him away from me. He was my best friend, my savior, my everything, and now he's gone. I don't know if I have anything left in me. I've been avoiding Plague, trying not to let him see me like this. I know he would be disappointed.

I wonder if Kimani, his lovely mate will show. I've only met her once and she doesn't seem to show up anywhere else since. Not that I can say anything, it's not like I've been a social butterfly. Finally, I make it clear of the forest and make my way slowly toward the three siblings who surround the carcass. I glance down at it, not in longing, just in curiosity. It's not too big, but a pleasant enough sight for the eyes of a hungry stomach. My stomach growls again in protest. I then lift my golden gaze to the three wolves before me, clearing my throat a little to clean out the pipes before I try to speak. Hello. I'm Misty. Unable to think of much else to say, I lower my snout a little and glance around the clearing, wondering if any other wolves will come and save me from this humiliation. I think I've forgotten how to hold a conversation.
