Playground
Parents do not fear; your children are safe in the Playground. A benevolent fairy watches over young colts and fillies who come to frolic here. The trees are ancient things, and widely spaced (excellent for tag) and there are several low logs to leap over and many ponds and thickets full of wonder for the little ones. Come play and form friendships that will last a lifetime.

He was pretty sure that mom and dad were going to suffocate him with all their lovey-dovey nonsense. It seemed that every time he turned around, they were call each other ‘love’ and staring into each other’s eyes. It was really boring! It was so boring, in fact, that Novak had dozed off. He probably would have slept all morning if his sister hadn’t attempted to creep by. See, she might be able to sneak off from mom and dad, but she’d never get anything past her twin! To Novak, her ‘creeping steps’ might as well have been… well, he wasn’t sure what walked really loudly, but she’d have been walking loud nonetheless!
He let her pass without opening his hazel eyes, but once she had gone a little ways, he rolled to his feet. He followed her slowly, pretending that he was one a secret mission (maybe even giving himself his own theme song, but he’d never admit to that!). The little chestnut colt followed her all the way to the playground and then promptly got distracted. There were many other foals here, some alone and others grouped. A grin easily found its way to his lips as he considered which group he should join.
Unfortunately for Novak, though, that’s about when he spotted his sister bumping into someone. He could hear her shy voice, could hear the nerves that caused her words to teeter and rush together. Little Novak puffed up his chest. Dad always said, ‘Protect your sister!’ Well, by golly, that’s what he was going to do! Attempting to make himself as large as possible – a difficult feat in such a young boy – he stamped (or walked with overly big steps) over to his sister and the stranger-colt.
“Darcey!” He called in his best serious daddy voice. “What are you doing?” His stern act is destroyed as he affectionately pulls at his sister’s dark mane and offered the smaller colt an impish smile.Novak
