New birds and the Carden Challenge Posted on April 7, 2011 at 10:08:10 PM by Ron Reid
At the heronry on Shrike Road today, there were at least 8 pairs of Great Blue Herons (probably more) on nests. Also saw 4 Harriers, several Meadowlarks and Bluebirds, but very few puddle ducks. The first few Chorus Frogs were singing tentatively.
Also, if you are interested in the Carden Challenge, which takes place this year on May 27-28, please contact me and I'll send information. Teams of birders of all skill levels are very welcome, and it's a fun way to raise funds for stewardship of Carden habitats. Replies: There have been no replies.
