Re(1): Bile Salts, Potassium Sorbate

Hi USAsoccer,

Potassium sorbate works by inhibiting fermentation by yeast. This does kill the yeast, but it does have its drawbacks. One problem is that it can only be used where it can be directly applied to the Candida. The second problem is that it will not address the cause of the over growth, which is a lack of flora that leads to an alkaline pH the Candida thrives in.

In my opinion the best to deal with Candida is to restore the flora with probiotics and prebiotics.

Short term use of bile salts can help the gallbladder. But again for the long term you are better off with helping the body with its own production and release of bile.

Lecithin granules and increased fiber intake can help with bile formation. Bitters also help with formation and release. Consuming small amounts of good fats with meals will also help with releasing bile to prevent gallstone formation. Also avoid supplemental hormones since both estrogen and progesterone increase the risk of gallstone formation.
