Playground
Parents do not fear; your children are safe in the Playground. A benevolent fairy watches over young colts and fillies who come to frolic here. The trees are ancient things, and widely spaced (excellent for tag) and there are several low logs to leap over and many ponds and thickets full of wonder for the little ones. Come play and form friendships that will last a lifetime.

Had the other boy's face a shape Redshift would only just have managed to focus on its outline when Marston squeals and darts away. Reason's never encouraged him to play – she may never have actively prevented him joining in other children's games but she never told him “go on,” or taught him them herself – and so the concept of 'tag' is quite unknown to the brown-grey child. Besides that he's so small that it looks like he'll be damaged the moment anyone knocks into him with any kind of speed and so those acquaintances he has made in the past only spoke to him and never tried to involve her in their games.
Now he's been thrown into a situation he's utterly unprepared for he finds himself darting after the boy as though upon instinct, sure that the larger, older colt wouldn't have greeted him only to leave him behind so soon. At such a speed however he can only make it a few steps before faltering and gasping for breath, his narrow legs splayed to support his heaving frame. “Wait,” he whispers although it's doubtful he'll be heard, unable to fathom nor explain why he is so much weaker than his new friend. |
