Mock Battles
Beside the Challenge grounds is a smaller area designated for mocks. Battle is a way of life in the land of Beqanna, and one must be in top shape to succeed over their foes. This land is a land of practice, where knowledge and skill is gained and wounds are healed immediately after by a watchful battle fairy.

Her breed was not built for prancing around at a gallop. She was stout, strong, a Viking rather than a Roman. A thin smirk crossed her lips as she saw his plan. So many horses had tried and failed to attack her this way, unwittingly giving her the advantage when they could not lure her into a running battle. Bracing herself, she swung her hindquarters out, tossing her head feverishly as he drew closer in.
At this speed she could sidestep him, pivot away and give him no chance. Fortunately for him, Flintfoot half regarded that as cheating. Chivalrously she stood her ground, half rearing on the spot as he closed the gap between them.
She ducked her head out of his bite, thrusting he sideward and then saw the glint of his hooves. Hurriedly she swept her head out of range, rearing beneath him. He would be taller, but she would have a better position having balanced from a standstill, whereas the wrong groups of muscles would have been working from his gallop to his rear.
Flinty lashed out, leaning in to crash her chest against his own, hugging his sides with her legs. She leant against him, walking her rear legs in closer to keep her balance, so that when he retreated back to the ground she would slide down with him. Scratches or broken ribs – anything was beneficial.
His hooves ripped at her sides. Rivers of blood sprung from flesh wounds. She clung on tighter with her own, eventually pushing back off him and striking out a single hoof as she fell. It was plausible it could have hit his head or his chest as it fell through the air, but probably causing no more damage than a gash.
