Was she counter attacking his counter attacks? She seemed to think that he was moving away from her in between her attacks. He wasn’t however. In fact he stayed as close as he dared with those injured shoulders of his so he wouldn’t have to move so much and cause himself more pain than necessary. He had stayed close to her until he had been finished on his last counter attack before he had moved a few steps away in a rough limp. He was determined to win however. The last few losses that he had encountered were just a lead up to this win. He could feel it.
She ended up behind him.
He turned his head slightly to keep a better eye on her, amazingly letting her approach. His eyes went over her body, deciding what it was she was going to do and he watched her chest to see where she would move too with that one eye. His muscles tensed as she sprung in a feint to his left only to swerve back and attack him with her teeth on his right. Instead of pivoting away so her teeth only grazed him, he allowed her teeth to land on his flesh but not in the area that she hoped to grab. Her teeth grabbed the well defined muscle of his haunch. Her attack had been more of a pinch really since it’s much harder to grab muscle when it’s flexed. He had swung his haunches into her head even as he kicked out with that left back leg in a side cow kick.
Thankfully he didn’t have to move much so despite the distributed weight upon his two shoulders he wasn’t in that much pain. The muscle ached on one side even as the elbow throbbed on the other, but as long as he wasn’t moving he was alright.
He aimed the cow kick low, more towards the knee of her right front leg. If his blow landed upon her leg she could possibly be disabled. A limp was horrible in a battle but a leg you couldn’t put weigh on was a death sentence. He knew it was a risky move because it was such a small target but he was banking on her focus to be more upon her attack then upon his attack. If she moved her head away from his haunch so it wasn’t hit then it wasn’t likely she would be looking down to see what his leg was doing.
Her fourth and final attack was next. The blows she took to her shoulder and chest seemed excruciating and he could only watch as she tried to catch her breath after his hind legs landed upon her chest. If his blow to the elbow was a risky move than her taking his hind legs to her chest was even riskier.
He tosses his head as she approaches, waiting with a still slightly arrogant attitude despite his numerous injuries. He would heal and the pain would fade. But he wanted to win so bad he could taste it. He laced his ears amongst his mane as she finally closed the short distance even as his legs and body rose up in the air with her. He had watched the muscles of her body shift and move beneath her coat, using that to tell him what her head on attack would be. So it was only with a slight split second difference that he rose up in the air after her.
He kept his head away from her hooves as they flailed at his body. He took blows upon his chest and the lower part of his neck. Each blow like a Charlie horse to the muscles there. He winced as her hooves attacked, but he attacked with his own hooves, striking out for each blow that she threw. He is not angry as she is so his hooves are a little more controlled and aimed than hers. He aims for the lower part of the chest where the legs connect to the body and for the lower part of the neck where the muscles there would cause aches every time she moved her head.
When she lands he follows her down, limping heavily as he balances his weight out amongst his other legs. The blow to the shoulder aching furiously now as they wait for a judgment. He dips his head just slightly to her, acknowledging her fighting skills.
