Just as the perlino had been anxious awaiting the return of Aedue from labor, he was possibly more so for Freedom. After all, her child was also fathered by the brute whom had raped Caoihme. What if the same fate befell her? As much as did not understand her impatient and rash antics, he did not hate her - not in the least. And so, he stood on high alert near the edge of the Forest to await her return. When she came in to sight, a soft smile spread onto his noble features and he stepped forwards to embrace her. It was not until she spoke that Mime's grateful curve reversed into more of a grimace. And, it was now, now more than ever that he desired the ability to communicate. He had not wished any ill fate on the foal. In fact, he would have loved him or her as if he were the father. He could only imagine the toil this experience had taken on the young roan beside him; however, that was something he would be willing to help her to overcome. Alas, there was little to be done right this moment and so, Mime continued to lean into Freedom's maturing frame. While she returned the tenderness of his touch, his whiskered muzzle extended to lightly stroke the arch of her crest. Allowing his long-lashed lids to close over his amber pools, Mime indulged in this moment of bliss though, secretly, his heart pained for the newborn she had just abandoned.
