There have been postings on this message board concerning the Parker law suit that has caused some members of our association to become increasingly impatient with a settlement outcome. A few have gone to speak to the board of trustees and request action. It appears the trustees have answered these speakers as best they can within the confines of privacy during a law suit.
It may be necessary to remind you that if you are among the more than 200 retirees that opted out, you have no legal voice in this class action suit. If the retirees who opted out recieve any interest money from this law suit it will be based on a decision by the board of trustees.
If you are still part of this law suit then you already have an attorney, Wayne Thomas. Any grievances you may have should be addressed to Mr. Thomas, your legal representative in this class action law suit. Those of you who attend the board of trustees meetings will see that the named retiree in this law suit, John Parker, does not address the board directly. He does so through the attorney representing the class.
Your association board will continue to monitor and report to our members any progress in this law suit for the benefit of those members who are interested. The pension administrator, trustees, and even the board's attorney share with us all that can be discussed openly. I know all retirees are frustrated with the prolonged outcome of this settelment. I will do my best to continue to pass along information as I have it to our members. Replies: There have been no replies.
