Hi Theresa,
When Benny Fiddler died, Nancy inherited his fiddle. A few years ago I was contacted by a member of the Adams clan who still had the fiddle and was kind enough to send me some photos of it. He also told me that for many years the bosuns chair and hoist equipment that was used to get Benny Fiddler up and down to bed was stored in one of the Adams workshops. I can't find the emails we exchanged but will let you know if I come across them. He also sent me an Adams family tree, but it does not show any spouse or children for Adah.
We tend to think of scandal as being a modern thing, but it has always gone on. Benny Fiddlers son James (My GGG Grandfather) died in 1864, but his wife Mary went on to have 3 kids after he died. She carried on living in one of Benny Fiddlers houses and took in washing etc. I think that either Benny Fiddler, or one of James unmarried brothers was the Dad, but I guess we will never know.
Keep in touch,
