A red squirrel has taken to coming to our hummingbird feeder and settling in for a long drink. It hangs onto the window screen with its back feet, and, head down, holds the feeder with its front feet while it laps away like mad, bubbles rising in the feeder to signal how much nectar is disappearing. It's a first for us, adding to the wasps and orioles who also compete with the hummers from time to time.
