Re(1): thinnning hair

Hi John,

Licorice root is one of the best DHT blockers. Taking this several times a day can therefore help reduce the hair loss. Include more potassium rich foods though with taking larger doses to prevent water retention and potassium depletion. Good sources include watermelon, parsley, orange juice, and ripe bananas.

Other good DHT blockers for internal use include jiaogulan (Gynostemma) and saw palmetto berry.

Licorice root can also be used topically. Make a tea by boiling a spoon full per cup of water for 15 minutes. Let it cool then strain in to a glass bottle. Add a small amount to rubbing alcohol as a preservative. After showering and towel drying the hair take about a teaspoon amount and massage it in to the scalp and leave it in. This will help neutralize the DHT coming through the scalp.

Sesame oil is also a DHT blocker. It can also be used internally or externally.
