peeing on bathroom carpet

I have 2 cats that are 7 years old. I have been living in my apartment for 3 years, and suddenly one of the cats has started peeing on the bathroom carpet (which is a few feet from the litter box). I keep the litter box clean, so I don't think that is the problem. Also, the other cat has started pooping in the bathtub!! What can I do?
