DEAR TABBY ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS
Cat Territory

Hello there I have a male bengal cat named Prince 3 yrs old beautiful neutered boy his temprament amoungst people is great and his wonderful with children in the past my dad came over to watch my 2 small children and brought his cat to my home where my cat met his cat my dads cat is 8 yr old tabby female my male boy prince seemed fine with the meeting and did not really react to her presence, recently I decided it might be nice for him to have a companion so I purchased a snow bengal 12 weeks old even though she is younger I thought she would grow into him as he is still very playful, when I bought her home I did not know of any introduction process of one cat to another so just showed her to him and he went barmy! hissing crouched right down ears right back growling he ever swatted at her she on the other hand remained very calm and did not react in anyway, the next day i tried again and he still went mad she then growled and hissed back at him I could see great tension between them. I then searched on google and it went on to say kittens are not well paired with adult cats and once there is an altercation how the relationship begins is often how it stays even if the process of integration is then performed, I now understand how they should of been introduced gradually her settling in, then introducing smells, then letting him see her from a distance etc at the time I was clueless I am wondering what the chances are of this pair being o.k together as my husband loves her and so do my 2 boys I am very close to my adult cat prince my main purpose for buying her was to give him a companion so his happiness means alot to me but as a cat lover and seeing how she has settled in within a matter of days with my husband and children I feel it would be unfair to pass her on also. Please can you help
