Even with their sharp eyes, the Eastern Imperial Eagles hated having to look through fog. "Mother, my wings hurt! When can we land?" Liberty asked Citrina. "Patience, Liberty. I think I see a few trees not far from here," the mother avian told her daughter, narrowing her gray eyes as a distant forest-like area came into view. The adolescent eagles sighed with relief, while their parents rolled their eyes in amusement. After all, Liberty and Jetwing were still quite young and weren't accustomed to flying for terribly long periods of time. Divinus began flapping his white-tipped brown wings faster as he led his family toward one of the trees.
As soon as he was sure of where his father was going to land, Jetwing plunged toward the branch, as he was always looking for competition, especially when it came to flight. Liberty laughed a bit, landing next to her brother, followed by their parents. Soon after, the fog finally lifted. "Okay, Liberty. How about we explore Traydon River in race form, now that the fog's lifted?" Jetwing challenged his sister. "Oh, you are so on!" the female bird said back to her sibling. "Why don't you two rest first? You were complaining about your aching wings not half an hour ago," Citrina urged the two competitive eagles. Liberty sighed, "Yeah, you're right, Mother. I'm going to find a comfortable place to perch and exercise my wings." She then left, followed by her brother. They hardly paid attention to how far they were going.
It wasn't until they saw the hawk that they realized they weren't in their parents' sight. Liberty widened her green eyes. "Um...do you think he's friendly?" she whispered to Jetwing. He shook his head and answered, "I have no idea. Perhaps we should start going back?" His sister shrugged. "Well, maybe he won't hurt us," she said. "Well...I don't know," Jetwing said uncertainly, when he suddenly lost his footing almost. His talons scratched the bark, causing a small breaking noise in the wood. "Oops," he muttered, turning to Etu to see if he had heard them.
