The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
scream out "what will save us?"

He saw the painted girl streaking across the desert like a bat out of hell long before heard her. She sent up a plume of dust a mile high and silently he prayed nothing else that lived in the area would notice. Cersei may not have been his daughter by blood, but he had other children who weren't his in his home before and she would be no different. His copper eyes merely watched her as she verbally tore into him, and in the back of his mind he worried she might overheat. Yet he makes no attempts to stop her or retaliate against her words. She had a right to every feeling inside of her, he would never deny her that. Their other daughter Gemini had much the same spirit and he knew Hush was to thank for that.

The idea that where they were was a wasteland however caused him to metaphorically quirk and eyebrow and he lifted his head to scan the horizon. “Hardly a wasteland,” he said quietly, “there is much life here if you care to look.” There was no reprimand in his voice, or tone as if he might be talking down to her, merely an observation.

The sound of Hush's voice brought his focus back however and his heart tore. She was too small, too frail, and he worried that bearing his child would only hurt her worse. She would always be his angel and he couldn't lose her, not now. “No one holds a grudge against you for anything,” the words slid from his lips quickly as he fought the urge to rush to her side. He could no more blame her than he could blame the sun for setting.

He watched in silence as Hush spoke to her daughter, but her outburst caught him by surprise. The first cry made him dance in place with unease while the second broke his resolve to give her space. He found himself by her side, his painted nose buried in her cream mane and breathing deeply. “You have nothing to be sorry for,” he whispered. He looked momentarily at Cersei, surely as angry as she might be she could see she was only causing her mother more pain and anguish by acting as if they had done it on purpose.

“Its in the past, and we have a future to attend to.”
