Canon G12, IR Test Posted on 9/18/2011 at 09:50:35 PM by Steve Owen
Well I went out and tested my G12, and the Hoya R72 IR filter today. I set the camera to Manual, ISO 100, shutter 1.6 seconds, Aperture F4. I also took a piece of printer paper, and set a custom WB with the filter on the camera. The first was converted to B&W - the second was converted for the near IR Blue Sky effect. It was late afternoon, and the amber color shading was from the setting sun, sort of cool. I rested the camera on the porch railing, so this is a semi hand held shot.
This will have to do, until I can go get something better. My daughter, and I are planning to go to the Lake Junaluska Methodist Assembly center sometime soon, I'll see what comes from that. There are some pretty good photo ops there if I remember correctly, at least more than off of the front porch.
