Hi John,
If my subject line isn't self-explanatory, here's my situation. I am just starting to think about fundraising for a script I wrote that I believe can be produced for less than $50K. I don't feel that I need to protect myself from liability with such a low budget film, therfore I don't want to go through the hassle and expense of creating an LLC. But I would like to approach some passive investors and, if need be, offer them some profit-sharing. Is there some kind of agreement that a lawyer could draw up for me that would still protect both parties, but would not include the formation of an LLC? I would simple do a DBA. Thanks for your help.
Shilpi
